Kumara Chips & Guacamole

Here is a recipe for oven roasted kumara chips and guacamole. Perfect for pre-dinner nibbles on a summer afternoon 🙌

Kumara Chips & Guacamole


3 medium sized kumara
1 Tbsp coconut oil
1 tsp mixed herbs
Salt to season
2 avocados
1 tomato, finely chopped
1 tsp sweet chili sauce
1 tsp lemon juice


  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees Celcius. Add a tablespoon of coconut oil to an oven dish and leave it in the oven to heat up while you prepare the kumara. 
  2. Peel and chop the kumara into thin slices. Place on the hot oven tray, add the mixed herbs, salt and pepper and stir to coat evenly.
  3. Cook for approx 30 mins, stirring halfway through cooking. 
  4. To make the guacamole, mash the avocado in a bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix to combine. Season to taste.
