Healthy Snickers Bar

They have a melt in your mouth nougat layer, topped with a sweet caramel and of course finished with a chocolate top. 

Ingredients:

1/2 cup protein powder
1/2 cup coconut flour
2 Tbsp cacao powder
2 Tbsp maple syrup
2 Tbsp coconut milk
2 Tbsp coconut oil, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 Tbsp peanut butter

Peanut Caramel:

1/2 cup peanut butter
2 Tbsp maple syrup
3 Tbsp coconut milk

Chocolate:

2 Tbsp coconut oil
2 Tbsp Peanut Butter
1 Tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 Tbsp cacao powder

Instructions:

  1. Line a loaf tin with baking paper.
  2. To make the bottom layer, combine all of the ingredients and mix well. Tip into the loaf tin and press down into even layer and place in the freezer for 10 minutes.
  3. Next, for the caramel layer, combine all ingredients mix well. Evenly pour over nougat layer and return to the freezer for 30 minutes (or until firm).
  4. Remove from the freezer and slice into rectangular bars (6 or 8 bars in total). 
  5. For the coating, mix all ingredient together and dip each bar in melted chocolate until covered on every side. Place snickers bar on wire rack and return to the fridge.
  6. Refrigerate until chocolate coating has set.
