Here is a yummy yet healthy recipe for Chocolate Afghan Slice! If you loved the Afghan Biscuit recipe we posted a wee while back, treat yourself and give this one a go 🤤
Chocolate Afghan Slice
Ingredients:
100ml Blue Coconut coconut oil , melted
3 Tbsp maple syrup
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup ground almonds
1/4 cup cacao powder or 100% cocoa powder
Pinch of sea salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 cups of organic cornflakes
Chocolate Icing:
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup Blue Coconut coconut oil, soft
2 Tbsp maple syrup
1/4 cup Tbsp cacao powder
1/2 cup crushed walnuts
Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 160°C fanbake. Line a brownie tin with baking paper. My tin measured 25cm x 25cm.

In a large bowl mix together ground almonds, cacao powder, baking soda and sea salt. Add the coconut oil, maple syrup and vanilla and mix well.

Add the cornflakes then stir thoroughly until the mixture is combined.

Press the mixture into brownie tin.

Bake for 25 minutes. Leave to cool for about 20 minutes before icing.

To make the icing, mix coconut oil, peanut butter, maple syrup and cacao powder until combined. Spread this over the slice, top with crushed walnuts. Leave to set in the fridge for 20minutes before slicing.
